Tuff Withdrawl Tester

The Tuft Withdrawal Force Tester is used to find the tuft binding strength of a carpet which is the force required to extract a tuft from the carpet. It is mainly used for determination of force needed to pull out tufts from unknotted tufted carpets.
The INNOLAB Tuft Withdrawal Force Tester (hand operated) has a spring dynamometer which carries a clamp for gripping a single tuft. The dynamometer is moved up and down with the help of a screw and wheel arrangement. A maximum load pointer is provided on the dynamometer to indicate the maximum force exerted on the tuft before it is pulled out.

An opening in the base plate enables the test to be carried on a large area by placing the tester at the desired location. Small test specimens can be clamped over the base plate with the help of a clamping plate which also has a similar.
